Postural Strain & Tension

The way your body moves and holds itself each day can shape how it feels.

Over time, postural strain can lead to discomfort, tension and reduced mobility. Identifying and addressing these patterns can help improve alignment, reduce strain and support more efficient movement.

Mobility, Balance & Movement

When your body is working in balance, movement feels easier and more natural.

Rather than focusing on one area alone, Brad looks at how different parts of your body work together. Treatment focuses on improving coordination, mobility and overall movement, helping you move with greater ease and confidence.

Osteopathy Across the Ages

Osteopathy can support you at every stage of life. Brad works with children and young adults, supports women through pregnancy, and cares for older adults — adapting treatment as your body and needs change over time.

Whether you’re navigating the physical changes of pregnancy, managing the demands of work or study, recovering from injury, staying active, or maintaining mobility as you age, care is tailored to meet you where you are.

Treatment is gentle, considered and responsive — helping you move more freely, feel more comfortable and function at your best.

What happens during an osteopathy appointment?

Your appointment begins with a discussion about your symptoms, health history, lifestyle and movement patterns. Assessment may include looking at posture, mobility, strength and how different areas of the body are functioning together.

Treatment may include hands-on osteopathic techniques, soft tissue treatment, joint mobilisation, rehabilitation exercises and movement advice, depending on your individual needs and goals.

Initial appointments are 1 hour in duration to allow time for a thorough assessment, discussion and to begin treatment. Dr Brad takes the time to understand your body as a whole, supporting care that is individualised and focused on long-term movement, function and wellbeing.

Is osteopathy evidence-based?

Osteopathy in Australia is a regulated allied health profession, with osteopaths registered through AHPRA and trained in anatomy, biomechanics, clinical assessment and musculoskeletal care.

Dr Brad Corbett holds a Bachelor of Science (Clinical Science) and a Master of Health Science (Osteopathy) and takes an evidence-informed approach to care, combining hands-on osteopathic treatment with rehabilitation and movement-based support tailored to the individual.

Research supports osteopathic approaches for many musculoskeletal conditions, particularly when combined with education, movement and rehabilitation strategies. Treatment is always adapted to your symptoms, goals and stage of life, recognising that no two people or bodies are the same.

At Bodies in Balance Osteopathy, care focuses on supporting movement, reducing pain and improving long-term function and wellbeing.

Is osteopathy suitable during pregnancy?

Osteopathy may help support some of the physical changes and discomforts that can occur during pregnancy, including back pain, pelvic discomfort, postural strain and changes in movement as the body adapts throughout pregnancy.

Treatment is always tailored to the individual, stage of pregnancy and comfort level. Techniques used during pregnancy are adapted to support comfort, mobility and overall wellbeing.

At Bodies in Balance Osteopathy, Dr Brad Corbett takes a gentle, whole-body approach to care, considering how changes throughout pregnancy may influence movement, posture and function.

If you are pregnant and unsure whether osteopathy may be appropriate for your individual circumstances, please feel free to contact Brad. He is always happy to discuss any questions or concerns and whether treatment may be suitable for your needs.

How many osteopathy treatments will I need?

The number of appointments varies depending on your symptoms, goals, lifestyle and how long the issue has been present. Some people seek support for short-term concerns, while others benefit from ongoing care focused on movement, rehabilitation and long-term function.

Following your initial appointment, Dr Brad Corbett will develop a treatment plan tailored to your individual needs. This may include recommended treatment frequency, advice to support your recovery between appointments and discussion around what to expect from future treatment.

Recommendations are always discussed with you and adapted over time according to your progress, goals and response to treatment.

Can I use private health insurance for osteopathy?

Many private health funds provide rebates for osteopathic treatment, depending on your level of cover.

If you are unsure, we recommend checking with your health fund prior to your appointment. HICAPS facilities are available at each of the clinic locations for on-the-spot claiming.

How long is an osteopathy appointment?

Initial appointments are 1 hour, allowing time for discussion, assessment and treatment. Follow-up appointments are tailored to your individual needs and range from 30 to 45 minutes depending on the clinic location. Please see the individual clinic booking links for appointment times.
